it's not a theorem. it's an agreed-upon order of operations. also, there is no such thing as a theorem without a proof. pretty sure PEMDAS is more like an axiom.

that's the nice thing about math, everything is based on definitions, so there's no meaningful disagreement because there are no ambiguities.
