Psychology is the study of the human psyche. The mind. An epiphenomenon (as far as we can tell atm) of the brain.
The problem with psychology is that psychologists don't make solid experiments. The replication crisis is a real thing. It's alchemy yet to become chemistry.
That being said, it isn't inherently useless. It's just full of holes looking at it through an empirical lens, which isn't surprising when we look at the seed of psychoanalysis that it sprouted from.
Psychology will be as valid as other applied sciences like chemistry or engineering when it undergoes some sort of complete synthesis with neuroscience, and hopefully somewhere around the bend after that will be a solution to the hard problem of consciousness.
