The 'Dunning-Kruger' effect was made up by two neoliberals to justify their hatred on the allegedly illiterate people who do not trust science. It's literally the 'You're dumb so shut up' card repackaged the 48th time.
Any actual studies done on the subject show that those who perform badly on tests do overestimate their performance on the tests but nowhere as much as implied by 'Dunning-Kruger'. More importantly, those performing badly on a test still judged themselves as having performed significantly worse than those who did well. So, the alleged inversion that Dunning-Kruger postulates can't even be observed.
