Whats so hard to believe some people naturally process more food taken in into fat storage? The base rate at which you sustain your body processes is highly variable and depends on a million factors. BMR is nowhere near scientific. I weigh 80kg and am 183cm tall.

thats simple, metabolism is much more complicated than the simple law of thermodynamics, and still it doesnt break it.

you could get two people who eat the same 2500 kcal a day, one has higher testosterone and maybe even does physical activity but for the sake of the argument lets say he s not doing. because of his higher test his body will naturally run more muscle protein synthesis, and as such will probably run hotter by a couple of degrees at the extremities.

person two might be a fat fuck who eats roughly the same, but has a much worse hormonal profile and his body prefers canibalising on his muscle and organs whilst turning any new calories into fat. because of this and other reasons he may run cooler at the extremities and as such he will consume less calories resting.

sure most people fall between these two example, but any kind of stress on the body coming from mostly disease(mainly in the gut, microbiome, digestive processes etc.) and lack of sleep, or lack of sunlight, lack of exercise....the list goes on and on.

so its not just as simple as calories in calories out

Its theoretically possible for a skinny person to eat a lot and never get fat. Getting fat requires energy but its just as random as growing big muscles or hair or getting taller. The body doesnt have to get bigger just because theres energy available.

I don't need one, the body doesn't start consuming muscle mass or fat mass until you stop consuming 'enough calories' to sustain body mass. For most people this ranges between 1500 and 2500 depending on height and muscle mass. As long as you're within that range, your body won't atrophy itself because it still has enough incoming nutrients and calories.

Fat people are better evolved to survive famines, they would have had an advantage 300 years ago, but now when food is scarce, it's a weakness.

This is specially obvious in people that lived primitive tribal lifestyles until recently in history. 100 years ago they looks fit as fuck, and now they tend to look like low class super fat people. Pacific islanders, australian aborigines, many natives of the americas.

the other thing people don't know, and fat people very often don't know, is that once you are fat, you are fucked for life even if you lose weight back to normal weight. Because you have created new fat cells, and losing fat doesn't destroy new fat cells, it only makes them empty. Those new fat cells will make you gain weight and bounce back to your previous fat level if you don't control what you eat every day. The only real way to lose fat cells is liposuction.
When you go from fat to thin, you can't begin living like a normal person, you have to be extra careful with what you eat for life or you will bounce back, it's a similar situation to a former alcoholic who can't drink again.

I've always viewed my metabolism on a weekly basis. If I overeat one day I undereat the next (mostly because I'm not even hungry). This has kept my weight incredibly stable at 135 lbs.

its been known since ancient times that going hungry does wonders for health, even hippocrates knew about it, among many other physicians through history.

there's a lot of hormonal changes happening when you don't eat, but the most important change of all is that your gastric juices dial down and insulin goes way down, and because of this you get less inflamation through your digestive tract and generally throught your body. if you didnt know already insulin is quite corosive, which is one of the main reasons people who consume a lot of sugars but not a lot of fats get damaged blood vesells and heart.

try skipping a meal and going for a run you nigger and you'll see what all the fuss is about if you don't want to read all the articles describing fasting benefits(all calories being equal)
