when people in non mathematical fields say they suck at math, its 99% of the time because they didn't learn properly how to perform algebraic manipulations for equations.

go through a precalculus algebra course thoroughly and check you know it all. anything you learn afterwards like derivatives, integrals, PDE... are just 1 2 or 3 new rules which are easy if you are sure about the 500 or so rules you had to learn back in high school.

The dimensions check at least. I assume tau is some time period. Still looks like typical physics envy. Almost all serious economics is just gathering data to know whats going on.

Also pick up an econometrics book or if you're interested pick up Paul Cockshott's Econophysics book (Routledge), I think you could easily work through it if you have some basic highschool algebra and calculus.
