Hello /sci/
i'm not a lurker on this board nor a poster, i've prolly never been on this board before.
In my free time i make up all kinds of ciphers and puzzles, either hand written in my notebooks or on my pc.
Recently i started playing with uuenconding, especially uuencoding the links to certain sites where one might find the "clues" for the puzzle.
Now as a meme, i uploaded a classic schizoid trollface pic on imgur, uuencoded the link and copy-pasted the result on google search bar. All that popped up was links to online bible platforms and all sorts of bible paragraphs.
Now i thought, what a funny coincidence (given the nature of the pic i used), let me see if it works with other similar stuff. And i got the same results. Then i tried with all kinds of pics, ranging from stock kitten pics, landscapes to memes, ai generated pics and screenshots. No matter what pic i used, i always got the same results: links to bible verses
So it got me thinking, could it be sth related to imgur? surely not, since i'm not manipulating / using anything from the site itself.
Maybe since all links are imgur links, there's some patterns in the results post-encoding that relate them to the bible links. Though i tried "brute forcing" my way to see what pattern could fit the criteria, removing 1 character at a time either from the start or the end of the sequence, whenever i would reach the limit point of "remove 1 more character and you no longer get the bible links", i would try to figure out a substring from that "cut" sequence and see if it affects the results, or if they are the same. No matter how much i tried, with as many encoded links as possible, it would always affect the change. And the "limit point" was different for most links post-encoding, so the substrings would also be different, they weren't just failing cause they were the same.
ik this is might not be some great mystery or w/e shit, but i'm intrigued by this phenomenon
Maybe someone can explain,im dumb ty
