But if you're pretty lazy about it, probably 3 years.
And if we're being honest, I'd hire a bootcamp grad over a self-taught programmer. Here there are 9 month bootcamps that guarantee placement after it all ends. Your pay will probably be shit, but all you gotta do is move to a different company after a year or so and you'll get bumped to a competitive wage.
