or do you unironically think that every grad school in the country has someone on staff that verifies all of the references for every single application they get? that would cost fortunes.
grad schools only look at gpa, exam scores, identify politics bonus points & legacy status. you could forge references from a dozen nobel laureates and a black guy with the same gpa as you will still get accepted before you.
nobody even looks at them. half the time the professor just stuffs blank paper in an envelope because everyone knows what bullshit refernces are.
