I've been on 4chan for nearly a decade and a half. I visit on a near daily basis and have done so for the entirety of my time here, ever since I became aware of the site. I'm incredibly disheartened by lack of intellectual engagement and the decrease in frequency of quality content, particularly on boards, such as /sci/, which on any other platform I would regard as requiring a higher minimum standard in comparison to other topics. /lit/ and /his/ would follow this rule.

There are no systems for establishing or retaining cred on this platform, and that's fine, that's part of the gig being on an anonymous imageboard. Joe Blow who came onto a board yesterday is on equal footing with someone like me who's been around since 2007. I gotta ask directly though, which of you are frogposters and wojack-derivative posters? Is this the quality and type of content you want here? What compels you to post what you do? Is this merely what you expect in return by your peers, or is it originating from a desire within yourself where you genuinely think, "Yes, this is the kind of content I want on /sci/"?

It's buzzled me for so long. I have standards and detest what I find most days, but I'm no gatekeeper. It's a shared community, and you will reap what you sow, simple as. I just wanted to reach out, from one anon to another, and have you tell me in your own words "Yes.", or "No, it all sucks, please help".
