>>13576899No, the worry is a robot industry giant will create a smaller form factor on scale which can do also autonomously walk. This has the extreme potential to replace humans in war zones for patrol/peacekeeping missions.
The Boston Dynamics robot is a lab pet project. It has no real use. It can't scale. Their autonomous function is non-existent. The dog robot has limited military applications but its not robust enough.
But lets ignore the Boston Dynamics/war bots for now. We can already have drones that do regular patrols within certain geographic regions. A company of those can easily replace security patrols or just augment a single security patrol to have 5x the capability.
Scaled robots that can autonomously function with limited general commands are what people are most afraid of.
>scaling problemIndustry giant could do it. Tesla wants to get into scaling the robot
>autonomous modeTesla's Self Driving Car has just about solved the autonomous mode
>generalized intelligenceThat is the last big hurdle. Its a gigantic hurdle, no doubt so our last line of defense against a robot take over rests upon a single filter that could be defeated if Tesla's mass produced robot could learn the everyday life's function with the power of data gathered from the scale of their operations.
Remember, the Matrix where AI gains sentience with scaled labor robot learning new parameters? We could see that happen in real life in our life time.
