Truly nothing is "domain specific" and rather what you think about and work on defines the abilities you're going to need for a specific instance. Somethings simply never crossover yeah, drawing skills might not be useful hand in hand with language. But depending on what you're actually doing, maybe it is, like in the art of typography. Or perhaps in designing a new language, having drawing skills might give you intuition on what ideal symbols should be. Practicing many things only serves as an opportunity to build and grow new and better ideas. Focusing things into discipline is the destruction of fluidity for the sake of reliability is also useful but obviously has its diminishing returns. And thats without considering the psychological aspects at all. Its a fact we solve problems using the knowledge we have gathered previously, so more experience solving different kinds of problems is a solid gateway into science/tech breakthroughs.
