Enriching uranium isn't transferring energy, it's just picking out the good bits from the bad bits, like how a coal mine produces refined coal that is useful to energy production as opposed to the general ground which on average is mostly made from not coal but still contains coal in places.

bottom line is, every gram of your body has energy equivalent of the nuke dropped on Hiroshima

not him but to better understand it is that most of the energy of molecules is stored as pure mass, somewhat a good amount of energy between the connections between the protons and neutrons of the atom and very little on the connection between other atoms. Matter is more willing to give up connections between atoms to release energy (ex: burning coal) than to give up it's mass or the proton neutron connection. In fact, to turn pure mass into energy you would need it's antiparticle opposite.
