how do you study something after youre a grown ass man? The way of studying that got me through my early life was just treating the material as gospel and rote memorizing everything... under extreme pressure environments, of course.

Now that I'm old and I can't be hounded into doing that again, how do I study? Right now I'm just leisurely reading the material and trying to find some part that interests me.
