In general, at this point in time, you can't trust any node on any online network, not even your own devices. You can air gap to write encrypted messages onto some disk, check it for modification, then plug it in to a corrupted node to send. Keys can't be shared anywhere on the network. This is where it gets weird, because you are compelled to do physical key exchanges and you are trying to send data which could just be physically delivered as well. The solution is just to pair drives as one time pads, one for sender and one for the receiver.
