CBT works if your mind isn't stubborn in clinging to its self-destructive tendencies. If it is stubborn, you must sever all comfort zones that it finds shelter in. Leave your home and find somewhere else to live a demanding lifestyle if needed

the latest thought is that occupying yourself and exercising a bit help greatly. a new hobby, going for a long walk. antidepressants trim off the edges and make you a bit more mellow. CBT is great if your IQ is average or less. if higher you will probably see through it for what it is - positive pep talking yourself. have fun!

You have to psych yourself out of it

But even then if someone above you hates your guts and can get away with murder they can just ruin your life in other ways (discredit, defamation, etc) so whatever else you want to try to fix it maybe you could have more results
