Is a ME + EE double major pointless?
My school offers the same curriculum for the first two years.
I'm really into materials science conceptually, but am also interested in aviation.

Yes it’s pointless. Undergrad is so shallow that going even wider is doing you zero favors. The only acceptable double majors are Engineering + Finance or Engineering + Foreign Language. If you want MOAR ENGINEERING then spend that time doing 500 level courses and go for a masters. It’d be barely more work for a much bigger step up in your career.

EE + ME sound a pretty useless yeah. That sounds lile it would take 6 years to do which at the point just go for a masters in one of them.
