>>13540487The point is obviously whether becoming involved in a situation, and reducing the total amount of harm, is worth the risk of getting involved yourself and potentially being responsible for said harm. The classic follow-up to the trolley problem is the question of would you push a fat man off of a bridge to kill the man but save 5 people, and most people say that they would not be able to commit murder, even though they may be wiling to pull a lever to accomplish the same action.
And to be fair, there are people who say they could not pull the lever, even if it does save 4 lives in aggregate.
