>>13543034It is a good experience, but Nigeria is one of more dangerous places, even by African standards. I think it's important to not look flashy. Don't travel in expensive suits, don't wear jewelry and expensive watches. Also, don't go outside at night in rural areas. Overall, it is safe if you are cautious. SEA is super safe. I've travelled across Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines and never felt in danger. The most dangerous place on the planet is Central America. I've been there like 10 years ago, but I imagine they are still the worst place on the planet. I volunteered in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and it felt like most of teachers and high school boys were involved with gangs. And just the demeanor of local people was hostile and off-putting.
