The plant is insanely expensive, the fuel is expensive (the tritium is, deuterium is cheap), the current test-reactors do not even have the machinery to convert the power to electricity on a large scale, you still create high-level waste that needs to pay for etc etc.
I'm all for fusion, but the magnetic containment version currently being developed seems insanely impractical.
