Even if we all locked down for a year the virus would still exist in natural host reservoirs and re-emerge quickly.
Did you ever wonder why we never produced a true influenza or cold vaccine in the past?
These viruses cannot be vaccinated against long term, and they arguably fail short term too due to the viruses nature to mutate quickly and spread prolifically.
The people actually at risk, the ones who have other conditions or ailments which actually make corona viruses potentially dangerous should "lock down" and quarantine themselves. The rest of us shouldn't worry a damn about this.
People are not going to tolerate this for much longer. This won't end well if the pressure continues to build...
