A few years ago people were calling this impossible on here. Nice to know NIF wasn't a complete meme. That being said, question is if there's even a good plant design to strive for with this design.
So it may yet be a meme after all. I guess it may still be useful as a scientific instrument.

I thought it was 30 years. MITs ARC/SPARC design is very practical and requires no new technologies, It's just a tokamak with REBCO magnets + some nice design, very promising and I believe it has funding, they're making a smaller version to test.
