I've always been of the opinion that "homework" doesn't stand for "literal homework", it stands for "any thread with a literal dumpster fire tier OP where the poster asks a question for the express purpose of receiving a response and not for something like starting a discussion."
Also I wouldn't be surprised if this question in particular was homework.

Why wouldn't it? Really not the first time I've seen weird trivialities in homework.
Also not really immediate from the definition if you start with some definition like "the complex numbers are the algebraic closure of the reals" (even if it's still short.)
