You go to school and learn the bare minimum to get a junior engineering position.
Then you spend years working for senior engineers.
There is no "getting good" at it.
It's a fucking career, you get a job and do it every fucking day of your life for years, after 20 years or so maybe you'll consider yourself "good" at it but the truth is there is always a new challenge and something new to learn.
