so 40 years ago we were nowhere near the possibility of doing this, but now you're sure that we know everything there is to know about the human genome and associated process, so much so that we can effectively choose what is best?
Any selection we make would be arbitrary. The real arbiter is reality, in which humans will naturally select that is best. Neither you or I are above our biology, which naturally and intuitively will guide us to an effective mate. Then consider, we are not individuals, but a collective as bacteria or any other living population, and collectively we will optimally advance.
Only some egotistical nerd would say we can edit ourselves better.
