its really sad that a year later science still has no consensus on the mechanism of action for sarscov2 fatalities. It seemed like its an immune system thing at first and that does seem to explain why people can have massively different reactions to it. But what the hell is different in people who do get cytokine storms, or covid toe, or heart inflammation, or tissue degeneration?
Like if I were to make a bunch of assumptions, id guess olfactory cells uses proteins that are very similar to either the spike or the hull of sars. But nobody has gone and like isolated or narrowed down at all what these vulnerable proteins would be...
