practice, I cannot recall a specific book so maybe someone else can help in that regard, but this is an area where it helps to practice problems for it to stick

you can code using a theorem prover for example, but practice the same way as math problems

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACL2 is the one I used in my logic cs class if this helps

You shouldn't need a book. Just a short description of each gate and everything just sorts itself out. That's why they call it logic.

This. You can learn the basics pretty fast. Any book on logic will just go over notation and set theory, followed by proof writing. There really isn't much to it if you want just to apply it or use it like a tool.
