But if you have to get the same heart transplant ten times in the next fifty years, each one carrying surgical risks of complication, suddenly it makes sense why Chang self-asphyxiated thanks to the hidden hand of the market. There are also psychological factors of patients when they are thinking of a one-and-done deal. It is still under study, but people don't know how to accurately value a bed or car that would last their lifetime.
