give in, anon, I was a history bro who got really stuck on the concept of the limit, until I realized that it is literally just a consequence of the order properties of quantifier logic. Then I did a math major and have never looked back

I already graduated with significant debt (not as crazy as some but bad). However I may just say fuck it and apply to a math undergrad at my alma mater anyway along with other things since why not. I should have listened to the autism and not studied bullshit

It hasn't been proven. The weird patterns that grow with it (ie every even 2^n hole is 2^n-2 + 2n-2 hole). The idea that math is divine. The weird congruence of 7s and 26s. That it probably has to be solved by mapping numbers to a different numerical system.
Would buy textbooks if they weren't online

Ok, if thats the part you like, definitely start with the subject of Analysis, real first, then complex. You will need calculus for Real Analysis but the adult redpill is that you can do them in either order, just remember that they fit together.

Shouldn't we be able to predict how long a number will last based on its position in the cycles of 4, 8, 16 etc?
Based on this I predicted that longer lasting numbers would be 8x+7, and this seems to have played out, which makes me think I'm on to something. The outliers quickly root back to one as well.
The numbers change with regards to these cycles in a fairly predictable way. 4x+1 will sink while 4x+3 won't. 8x+7 won't always produce an 4x+1 but 8x + 3 will. I'm pretty sure you could understand at the level of 16.

Also I'm sure this has already been discovered but would be interested in previous discussions of this approach

and if you add an odd number with 1 you get an even number

in addition, dividing each even number by half will decrease more than an increase of 1, for all numbers > 2

so it becomes a question of how often does the sequence produced by 3x + 1 produce even numbers?

since an even * odd is an even, 3x + 1 will produce an odd number for each even number, and an even number for each odd number input

therefore it is half even and half odd numbers produced in the sequence, which will decrease over time due to halving at each even number, for the reasons stated above
