Oh, no way dude. Running the computation again generates an entirely different person. You're forgetting the massive internal computation going on in a head, that's the person stuff. To recreate a mind, you need more than the DNA, you need like.. all the RNA sequences in all the neurons, because that's where the thinking happens.

I think that generally the same person would be created. The brain changes a lot as we grow up but that doesn't change who we are. Based on that, the minor change that would result if you tried to recreate someone wouldn't be enough to create a new consciousness.

Yeah no sorry, you're just wrong about all of that. The computation is too large to come out the same way, the bit content of DNA does not compare to the size of the brain, it's negligible. Some things are hard-wired, like language and ethics and what faces should look like. The person, it's like evolution, if you ran the earth evolutionary program again from initial conditions, there's no way to predict what dinosaurs would look like, stuff would come out different. It's the same thing with brains.

I don't see why not. If the person has their DNA sequenced when they're alive, it makes sense that we'd be able to recreate that DNA to clone them at a later date.
