Nuking an hurricane is dumb but not for the reason that people think of. It is dumb because even the biggest nuke wouldn't make a dent on an hurricane. However, a bigger bomb or a space laser with orders of magnitude more power than a nuke would do the trick. That give us yet another compelling reason to industrialize space and install a network of space power stations orbiting Earth capable of gathering the enormous quantities of energy needed to do the trick on top of powering our civilization.
