The people who keep me here think they can make my life miserable enough that I kill myself, but they are going to make it miserable enough that they end up wishing I had killed their children instead of giving them to the foreign torturers. It was never about simulating anything; it was always about degrading the quality of my life to the point where I would kill myself. I would rather remain alive, even in these conditions, because I can already hear the echo of their horror coming to me across time and I want to hear it with my own ears.
