Can someone explain 4d to me?
Isn't the 4d thing in pic related still 3d? I mean I can still determine each point in the room with a combination of 3 linearly independent unit vectors

You're looking at this on your flat monitor so really it's 2d.
Do a bit of interpretation instead and you will see that a fourth dimension has been added, which needs a fourth vector to "access"

you can't show 4d in 3d world, just like we show 3d on 2d paper by using perspective tricks you would need 3d paper in 4d world to show 4d. Picture that is supposed to show 4d just goves you an idea on how you gow from 3d to 4d

In the 4d image, you physically shouldn't be able to see any of the red/blue section, in your 3d perspective. You would only see the black, a cube.

The extra parts exist along an axis that you are unable to perceive.
