i'm required to get one of them for my job. i don't have a problem getting one, i don't care.
my options are Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson&Johnson.

which should i take and why?

but if i had the choice between 3 tetanus vaccines and i could ask someone which one they would recommend, i would do that.

i imagine /sci/ has higher quality opinions on which one is preferable than if i were to ask people in real life. i asked 3 of my friends which ones they got, and two got the J&J and one got moderna, and they had nothing more significant to say than "yeah my arm hurt a bit after".

the J&J one seems to have more noteworthy side effects, what with being linked to the clotting stuff, and the mRNA ones don't have that. i guess that's a reason to go with the mRNA ones, and i'd have picked either mRNA one for that reason.
but that is the start and end of my opinion on it.

surely it wouldn't be any more significant than being actually infected, no? the virus contains the same RNA.
its not like the RNA would be reverse transcribed into your DNA, and would clear up pretty quickly. then again, i don't know anything about anything.
i don't really know why the J&J one is linked to clots, and maybe the same thing happens with the mRNA ones? i don't know.

Yes the same thing happens.
Mrna has risk of ADE and future autoimmune disfunction. Also platelet aggregation so it will possssibly shorten your overall lifespan.
I'd wait for the inevitable Pfizer booster personally and get that. The og wuhan strain isn't really around anymore and the current shots will be ineffective next year.

but even then, i gotta get one of the fuckers unless i quit my job. i'm not really concerned about the effectiveness or whatever, and i understand the hypocrisy in doing it just to "tick a box". i've got until september to give them a proof of immunization.

i'm unsure what makes these particular vaccines more "concerning" than any others. like, surely everyone has had their MMR vaccines, TDAP vaccines, and so on.

why the concern about these?

The mRNA ones, so far, have proven to have less serious rare adverse events (myocarditis, ITP) than the non-mRNA ones (TTS including cerebral venous sinus thrombosis -- blood clot in the brain).
What we know is that it has nothing to do with the less safe spike protein that the non-mRNA AstraZeneca vax uses, for the non-mRNA J&J vax uses the safer 2P spike protein that the two mRNA vaxes use.
