>>13464822Logic is necessary for drafting a story, but it shouldn't appear anywhere in it. Some writers get away with it, but it is most often used to paint some character in a certain light, reveal their motivations, and sometimes used to drive a plot. There are many choices made in writing, many are subconscious - some might describe it as a flow state, but I have found that good writing starts with good inspiration, like the story has already been told to you and now you are relaying it - and most of the conscious choices are finding the link between these disparate inspirations. Logic fits well for finding the threads in the rat's nest, untangling them, and getting them ready for the next impression. It also helps in all manner of technical aspects of language and writing.
