If you don't actually know anything about the philosophy of science, and only have a surface-level understanding of the scientific disciplines, it really does seem like science holds all the answers and that God is just some collective delusion. However, if their interest in science grows and manifests into actual understanding, they will very quickly realize that religion and the belief in God cannot be so easily written off either scientifically or philosophically. The most scientific approach to God is admission of ignorance and openness to ideas. Unfortunately, many do not progress to this stage and stay stuck in the "science has all the answers, fuck off retard" mindset.
