I also remember when there was an option for full phrase or separate words and google didn't brazenly ignored the request. The era when hits were forums and personal blogs and not Forbes, NYT and Elsevier.

duckduckgo is basically just a frontend for bing (microsoft). it has less censorship than google but is still censored. try yandex, unironically.

yandex's translation is also better; it can do OCR from images while google's cannot.
