These topics keep coming up in various things I've been reading, and while I understand them conceptually, I'd like to actually get a genuinely scientific understanding of them. Could anyone recommend me a book that covers these? A plain old textbook is even fine, I'm just not sure where to go. Not even really sure whether these would be physics or maths books...
