I will be a dad soon and i want to make sure my child won’t be as much of a brainlet as i am. What can i do to make sure his brain develops ideally or what are things that are detrimental to brain and cognitive development?
You guys are pretty smart so i figured you might have some advice

Just engage with them intellectually. Maybe hammering in some knowledge early on can't be too bad, but don't over do i. Best thing you can do is to be their personal assistant - show them info that might be relevant to their interests that they might not be mature enough to look for for themselves.

Exclusively breastfeed him for the first 2 years of his life. Breast milk contains polyunsaturated fats which are very important for brain development. It's also just generally important for an infants health.

The memory section is bullshit because it’s only short term visual. When I took this test I got 140S, 141V, 102M. But I dominated every class in school that needed rote memorization, my long term (or even hours to days short term) is definitely way higher

Back in February the Consumer protection agency discovered heavy metal concentrations far exceeding federal food safety standards in every one of the major baby food brands. Heavy metal toxicity literally retards brain development. This shit is in a lot of the food we farm here in the us, so my advice would be to look into foods with low cadmium, inorganic arsenic, and lead levels. Make sure his mom isn’t eating a bunch of this shit while pregnant or breast feeding. Fish have those really important omega 3s for brain development but do not fucking feed him fish because the Chinese have ruined our oceans and poisoned the underwater ecosystem. Aparantently algea has lots of omega 3s instead, don’t know if it’s fucked tho.

Teach him another language and to play an instrument. Make sure everything is fun and interesting for him, never force him to do shit, just make learning fun things part of his routine. As others have said, any exposure to this internet world is going to cause unknowable deficits. Also make sure you let him be creative, people good at wrote memorization are worthless these days. Finally, drop your bullshit attitude about being a midwit. If he grows up with that kind of mentality teaching him as his role model do you really think he will be better off? You’re the fucking shit and you’re gonna raise a wonderful, intelligent and happy child.

take me as an example: my family is quite intelligent, all academics, my dad and brother really innovative hydropower engineers and we have several phds in my family (uncels and such). but in my late teens i started drinking heavily (weekly blackouts for several years), then i got depressed, which also feasts on neurons. then i got involved heavily in amateur boxing to get out of depression and even had a few fights and i‘m sure that i had more than one concussion. so i guess my genetic potential wasn‘t completely fucked from the beginning but based on the choices that i made, it probably looks like a raisin now or like pic related, which cant be good for iq

Most state school treats 15-18 year olds like children.
Children are far more inteligent than are given credit, so always push their horizons.

You should really look into nutrition, vitamins, etc. Dont buy him shit, dont cook him shit. Try to give him a balanced diet. Dont give him too much milk, but prvide him with enough calcium from other sources that are not necessarily contaminated with hormones. Keep him away from industrial sugar. They can condition your children if you give them that too often to crave that shit when they have some deficiency rather than actual fruits that'd provide them Vitamin C(yes your foodcravings are usually a sign of a Vitamin defficiency and the craving for a specific food is an indicator that your body needs something)

Ofc sometimes candies are ok. Every child loves candies.

The hard part is though that you'd have to change your lifestyle aswell. Can't live like a shithead and then force your child to live healthy. That'd be assholeish and might lead to your child having a similar livestyle and mindset.

Buy him/her a good guitar and get a guitar teacher or just buy him a good guitar.

He is also going to get laid with it.

If it's a girl a guitar is still cool.

Raise him in a way that he avoids what some teens do. When I was in highschool a lot of the kids were drinking a lot and doing all kinds of drug to be cool. Somehow teach him that he is cool already. Many ppl fuck thing up at their teens.

Maybe pay him/her private teacher so that he/she can go to a good school.

Care about him/her and talk to him/her a lot, play board games for example or do stuff together it will mean a lot, even if you are tired from work.

Long term sleep deprivation (not enough sleep each night, frequent all nighters etc) have been linked to brain damage and a permanent loss in iq. Of course make your kid exercise and learn stuff challenging to them over time. They will quickly out perform most people if you do this carefully and in a way they will enjoy. The ultimate thing about doing something like this is you have to make them incentivized and to truly want it to the point it's what they do without you. So for instance teach them to read and let them go wild reading what they want. Treat as an exciting treat.

The absolute most important thing is language. Read books to him at night and actively teach him to speak instead of just waiting for him to pick it up. Try and teach him to read as early as possible but don't torture him with it. I think most kids can be reading real books by 5 or 6 but a lot don't seem to learn until 7 or 8. Probably possible to teach him to read at 4 but idk.

Before you start trying random shit or experimenting on your kid, understand that optimizing for "brain development" may cause serious hidden harm in other areas nobody knows about. I'd stay away from any type of drugs, very specific diets or anything that feels forced/unnatural.

don't pressure your kid too much, if he's a tard or doesn't like this stuff he will never be smart. just make him avoid all internet and social media until he is at least 10-14. buy him toys that require some mental capacity like mechano, lego, etc
