>>13425590>>13425732electrons dont work in the way youre thinking they do. they dont just bond and form chains... they naturally 'orbit' the atom(s) is a specific way. the specific way they orbit is referred to as their electrons shell. and in atomic physics, an atom has more 'capacity' or more shells for electrons the heavier they are. and you can also imagine consequently that the lower shells on lighter atoms have an extremely strong preferable energy level. so anyways in your case helium really prefers having both electrons in that first shell, and its not just gonna share electrons to form a polymer just for the sake of it
