OK mathfags, if you are so smart riddle me this.
Why is V1C1=V2C2 (Eq. used to find a compound's volume or concentration knowing the volume and concentration of a starting compound at different concentrations and/or volumes) not a proportion of the likes of A:B=X:C , where to get X you do (AxC)/B ?
V1C1=V2C2 is literally V1xC1=V2xC2 so if you have V1xX=V2xC2, X is equal (V2xC2)/V1, NOT (V1xC2)/V2 like you would solve a normal proportion.
Why is that? shouldn't it be a proportion?
