I'm interested in naturally occurring mathematics in nature, like logarithmic spirals.
I want to find naturally occurring patterns/ equations in the human body. I am autistically interested in the skull/ jaw and I want to find a model for how the jaw develops, pic related.
My hope is to be able to index jaw development based solely on ratios & angles of jaw occlusion, without having to physically measure the skull.
I'm not interested in what caused differing facial development, just finding ways to measure it and find out how to model the human jaw.
I'm very familiar with the anatomy of the skull due to my autistic interest. I know everything there is to know about the topography of the skull, I even bought a copy of the Pernkopf atlases to help me study.
What maths should I focus on to do this? I have been studying calculus recently.
