Assuming that we're only limited by science and the amount of space, not material resources, infrastructure, manpower, sustainability, ethics, or time and that the goal is merely to produce viable calories for human life, we could build vast vertical marine farms that are basically gavage camps for absurd amounts of salmon, trout, shellfish, and various aquatic flora just to squeeze every bit of efficiency out of the system.
Of course what's scientifically possible and scientifically plausible are very different.
