Why is it so weak compared to other forces? Wouldn't we all be dead if it were a little stronger or a little weaker? How could the Big Bang have occurred if gravity is a thing? Wouldn't it have kept all the matter in, or immediately after the universe would collapse into a black hole?

Weak on what scale? On a grand scale it's the strongest force because everything is charge-neutral at grand scale.

It's an unsolved problem in physics called the Hierarchy problem.

We sure would. Soibois like to explain this using the anthropic principle and cosmological natural selection which presume multiverse exists for which there is no evidence.

Nobody knows what caused the big bang but inflation was vastly stronger than gravity.

Matter was distributed uniformly in the early universe and inflation caused everything to move away from each other at equal rate which prevented everything from immediately collapsing into a black hole.
After inflation, some matter then did clump together to form galaxies and primordial black holes.
