Not really, but more carbon is a good thing.
Earth was slowly losing its carbon to natural sequestration cycles.
Someone had to come along and put it back into the biosphere, might as well be us.

We would need to take those trees and bury them deep underground at the same rate as we dig up and burning fossil fuels. Trees release the CO2 they sequester when they burn or rot. It's only a net negative if you stop that.

It isn't necessarily planting new trees but also not cutting down, not turning grasslands and wet meadows into townhomes and shopping malls covered in concrete, and not having an agricultural system that mostly takes biomass out of a soil and sends it to humans that send it to landfills where it turns to methane. Shit like that.

in my opinion the most efficient biological way would be to use seaweed and algae. Then you could convert some of that into fertilizer and the rest you would bury.
