In only about 20 years brain implants for more than just helping the disabled could be widespread
Such as, downloading information and instant learning. Does this scare anybody else? The future seems hopeless, I had no clue this technology was already emerging and accelerating so quickly. This WILL lead to nefarious acts

I think people should be more worried about real issues like conspiracy theorists and people who think science is part of an authoritarian 'globalist' agenda, then sci-fi scenarios and nebulous speculation about "nefarious acts". If we give up on modern science and technology, we will be losing and risking a lot more, than the astronomically improbably scenario that we end up in an exact copy of Brave New World or The Matrix.

Its a common theme for high IQ people, to choose to live out in nature in rural areas after they achieve their success and gain wealth

He purchased a neural engineering company dedicated to building interfaces for movement prostheses just so he could make his ignorant followers think he's developing technology from the Matrix. As someone who active researches and develops novel neural interfaces I can tell you his company's approach is far too invasive for the other applications he promotes and is quickly being outclassed by superior, less invasive techniques.
