Let's clear up some "grass is greener" misconceptions, I keep peering over the fence to see what the rest of STEM is doing
What I expected in chemistry:
>cool problems to solve by trying out weird reactions
>characterize your compound and spit a paper out
>lots of collaboration with fellow chemists
What I got in chemistry:
>professor says the paper you got your reaction from is unfallible and you are wrong
>nothing ever fucking works
>hot and sweaty lab attire
>lots of drinking and drugs with fellow chemists
