It is the outcome of nearly any unregulated market as far as I can see. Even in communist china you still have corporate power structures arising from what used to be a purely communistic state.
Point overall is that without transparency, ethics and laws applicable to corporations and government we end up with something similar to what we have here now in the west.
Even if we tried communism again, where would that lead us?
From what I know of history and human nature it would just create more strife and misery, as well as more monopolies and corruption too.
We need to seek balance in whatever economic or governmental system we live in or face an ever increasing difference in opportunities, wealth and power.
Easier said than done, but we have to try.
