Why did cases diverge between the UK and USA? The states have mostly reopened while the UK still hasn't.
Looks to me like mRNA vaccines are just significantly better than the AZ vaccine the UK used.

How does geography play into the spread? Aren't most of the big urban populations in america vaccinated? Could be harder for delta to spread in rural areas. Just guessing though

That's another weird thing. In the UK most COVID deaths are vaccinated people but in the USA it's nearly 100% unvaccinated people that are dying.

The report shows that 163 of the 257 people (63.4%) who died of the delta variant within 28 days of a positive COVID test between February 1 and June 21, had received at least one dose of the vaccine.
63% is "most". It seems logical to me that the US numbers should be getting closer to the UK numbers but that's not happening.

because the CDC literally changed the qualifying criteria if you've had the vaccine they use a much much lower pcr cycle threshold.

you have to be much sicker if you've had the vaccine for them to qualify you.

meanwhile there has been a rise in "unexplained" deaths

if that were the case and given the symptoms of this virus wouldn't they get ticked off as died with covid? they wouldn't have been charted as unexplained seeing as how hospitals are still desperate to assign deaths.

I'm not gonna clean up the CDC data but all cause mortality has decreased since the start of mass vaccination. If vaccines were killing people that number would be going up not down.

Nope. That had nothing to do with testing, it had to do with sequencing to identify the variant.
