I know this is old news, but I was going through them because I'm bored.
There are so many, so many, emails and messages from doctors, professors, physicians, all across the country who were all saying around the time of the initial outbreak that only the immunocompromised and the older, or otherwise weaker, populations, were really in danger of most any kind of fatality.
Emails from dentists who flat-out say that they and other members of the medical community are well aware surgical masks don't stop the flu, much less COVID-19, from spreading.
Even Fauci himself said that the "cloth facemasks you could buy at the drug store won't keep the virus out."
But they pushed all that shit for months. MONTHS. They sold it like televangelists sell fucking scripture.
So was the past year really just one big oopsie on the part of the WHO and other national health agencies? Was most of the shit that's happened really only because the people in charge severely underestimated, then severely overestimated, the danger of this disease?
I know that people died. I'd never devalue that. No one should have to suffer like how they did, and no one should see someone they care about go like so many had to.
But after reading this stuff... and then realizing that Fauci and the other policy-makers had the option to possibly listen to these people, but just didn't. In fact, they all went the complete opposite direction. There was barely ever a hesitation, or a moment of apparent self-reflection, from them in the past year. Nothing.
So was it ever really about the science?
