Math chads can't literally cuck software/electronic engies, physiscists, analysts, staticians, out of a pretty good ammount of jobs.
It's obviously not a one to one correspondence.
But don't box youself in while loking for emplyement and you'll be golden.

I mean that he has a gazillion books and all of his videos are about best book for this and best book for that but his 'tutorials' are like high school tier
I started collecting more books that I intended to read or could ever read during undergrad even though by that time I had started to realize I was a brainlet
It felt like I had to accept I wasn't good enough for it nor genuinely interested in learning the material or enjoying the process and drop out

I really like this guy, he's genuine and humble. But I disagreed about this video, I think a Math major + a bunch of CS and Applied (stats, probability) classes is a good degree. I hope so anyway. The CS degrees were just so shallow and lame

Is his recommendations of math books for people trying to self study actually good? Personally dont see the importance of starting with discrete math I just need fix my foundation and relearn algebra

They are a mixtrure of standard books at lower tier state schools and classics. Usually he goes through the table of contents so you can see if it's the right book or not. Discrete mathematics is sort of a jumble of a bunch of topics. I agree it's not necessarily worth studying a book specifically on that unless you need those tools in particular quickly.
If you mean elementary algebra don't spend too much time worrying about your foundation just get any book and move forward quickly doing lots of problems.
